Active Ear: Our Story
Active Ear is a family-owned practice that is local to the Fox Valley Area. Our goal is to help as many people as possible hear better, by simply providing hearing solutions people will be happy with at prices they can live with.
Our owner and hearing specialist, Jim Lippold, has been working in the field of audiology for over 10 years. Growing up, Jim was introduced to the world of hearing healthcare by his father, who is an audiologist. He trained and and worked with his father for many years, learning a vast amount about both the auditory system and hearing aids. He has also worked as a hearing specialist in an ENT setting.

Meet Our Team
Jim Lippold, HIS
Jim is a second-generation, licensed Hearing Instrument Specialist, with over 10 years of experience helping people hear. He has been around hearing technology his entire life, and he trained and worked for many years with his father, who is a Doctor of Audiology. His family’s clinic has provided a combined 90 years of service to patients. More recently, Jim also worked for an ENT clinic. With his combined experience in both an audiology and ENT setting, Jim has seen a lot of changes over the years for better in hearing solutions and is excited to help as many as people as possible hear better.
Sara Lippold, Patient Care Manager
Sara has been around the hearing industry for almost 20 years. Her background is in the food industry, from culinary arts administration to organizing special events and helping people eat healthier. She believes caring for patients is the number one priority. Sara is family-oriented and enjoys getting to know each of the patients who come to Active Ear. She enjoys helping patients feel comfortable while they are in the office and likes to make it clear that we offer an “at home” type setting. “Patients are always welcome to call us, and they are never just a number or a file. We know all of our patients by name and are proud to offer a smaller clinic setting that is easy to find with easy parking,” she said.
